How it works

  1. Book an appointment

Tell us when you can come, and visit the Gemach to see the gowns.

  2. Choose your gown

Try them on and find the one, then have it altered to fit you.

  3. Wear it, then bring it back

Wear it on your wedding day, and return it after the wedding.

There is a $150 dry-cleaning fee and no deposit: the Gemach runs on trust.

Getting married out of town? Your gown can travel with you, as long as it comes back.

In memory of Naomi Gittel

Gemach Naomi Gittel was founded in 2007 by Lieba Jacobson and Claudia Litvak Polachek. It is named in memory of Naomi Gittel, a five-year-old girl who passed away in Israel.

It began in Lieba’s home. As the collection grew, it moved to The Chevra, and in 2008 the Chevra Sisterhood sponsored a renovated room to display the gowns.
